gy piece, and then I can put together my Summer 2007 issue of Mimi's Doughnuts Zine, and then I can make lots of copies, and THEN... well, THEN we're on our way to Maryland for SPX!In the meantime, I want to share with you the class pages for the school where I teach. I've been developing them to share our activities and studies with parents and people outside the school. Check it out! We've been doing lots of cool stuff, including drawing, singing, speaking in tongues, and (as noted yesterday) examining birds of prey...
Last night I finally finished reading Taylor Branch's Parting the Waters, about Martin Luther King and the start of the Civil Rights movement in the 1950s and 1960s. Wow! What an incredible story. I love how King comes across as so real, so fallible, so troubled and hard-working. Reading such a close, detailed history really humanizes the myths. Here's the 2006 "Fresh Air" interview with Taylor Branch, just in case you're inking some comics and looking for some good listening material.
