Henniker-San Ramon Sister Community Project

Last weekend, I attended the 15th Anniversary Retreat of my home town's Henniker-San Ramon Sister Community Project. Since 1992, the HSRSCP has helped create cultural and economic connections between the people of San Ramon, Nicaragua, and Henniker, NH. It's a fun group of folks who believe that social justice starts with personal contact and cross-cultural learning.

There's a special kind of power in a gathering of caring people sitting around and sharing ideas about how to make the world a better place! Many thanks to our facilitator Elena from Managua's Kairos School.

This retreat was a great chance to reconnect with the group and its mission. I went to Nicaragua with them in 1999 and 2001, and the experience changed my life forever. Now, I'm excited by their interest in strengthening the educational aspects of HSRSCP's mission. I'm sure we'll have updates in the future...
